In year 4, Theme Group 4 members continued addressing Healing from Trauma and Addictions. On-going monthly meetings (approximately 6 total meetings with all group members over Year 4, not including individual group meetings among separate partnerships) created space for collaboration, discussions, planning and executing of mental health service development and implementation, including at the community level, knowledge sharing events, academic journal publications, and support and mentorship to students. Each theme group member described employing Indigenous approaches for research, such as rights-based, and culture-based approaches, storytelling, community consultations, and fostering long-standing community partnerships; and supporting Indigenous community development. Each individual member reported continued community-based events on mental health and suicide prevention, knowledge exchange events amongst wellness practitioners, and knowledge translation at policy, and academic levels. Some of the groups major outputs include a Podcast series on evidence-based practices related to the use of Indigenous approaches to addressing trauma, video recording on addressing racism in healthcare (Saskatchewan nurses response to TRC Calls to Action), journal publications, psychoeducational community learning groups, presentations to organizational stakeholders to address trauma and addictions from a culture-based perspective, and community healing groups led by First Nations clinicians and psychologists.
